Translin

How it works

How it works for interpreters

1. Schedule an Interpreter

Select a language combination, a date and time, and specify the interpreter’s field of expertise. We send your request to the matching interpreters and they have 24 hours to respond.

2. Get a Match

When an interpreter accepts your request, we’ll notify you by e-mail. To finish the booking, you need to confirm within 24 hours. Your interpreter will try to stay available during this time slot.

3. Receive Confirmation

Now you and your interpreter are ready to go. You’ll receive a confirmation e-mail with a link to your private and secured Translin Video Room.

Your Video Room can accommodate four people, so if you want you can share the link with two other online participants. Or you can have the interpreter online and you and your participants in the same room. It’s up to you.

4. Get Prepared

Make sure:

  • You have broadband Internet with a minimum speed of 10mb/s for optimal video streaming.
  • You have the latest version of Chrome or Firefox installed – check here to see if your browser is compatible with Translin.
  • You have a good quality headset with a microphone for improved sound quality and privacy (recommended).
  • You have your camera properly installed.

And please be on time!

5. Connect, Talk & Pay

On the date and time of your scheduled video call, you can enter the Translin Video Room via the link in your received confirmation e-mail, via your account, or by copying/pasting the Video Room link into your browser.

After the call, you’ll be charged the interpreter’s per-minute rate. You can then leave a rating and review for the interpreter, share your experience via e-mail, Twitter or Facebook, or book a new interpreter call.

It’s as easy as that!
